About JCRT

The Journal for Cultural and Religious Theory (JCRT) is a peer-reviewed journal devoted to disciplinary and interdisciplinary scholarship that engages religion, culture, and critical theory. JCRT publishes original research and special issues that advance the study of religion in contemporary intellectual, political, and social contexts. The journal is supported by the University of Denver and South Dakota State University.

About Religious Theory

Religious Theory is a feature of JCRT that provides timely essays, commentary, and conversations. Articles accepted for Religious Theory may be published later in a regular JCRT issue as a paginated PDF with library cataloguing information. The minimum time between publication in Religious Theory and JCRT is 12 months; the maximum is 30 months.

In addition to articles, Religious Theory publishes reviews of current books and titles. Reviews are not republished in PDF format. We welcome reviewers; if you are interested in reviewing a book on the “books for review” page—or a title you want to propose—please contact the Book Review Editor. If the title is appropriate, we will request it from the publisher.
